I've viewed flickr before but had not set up an account. Did that today and took a look at some groups, tags, and libraries. Need to spend some more time on this. My own photos are on a different computer and I need to use that one when I explore and use flickr.

It's a three day weekend and I thought I'd find some time to work on 2.0. I did change my blog and put the avator on the side but then I still can't get rid of the picture at the top. The clicking and dragging isn't working. I'll try this week to find someone to help me.

Week Two:
Discovery Thing:
Create a blog and an avator. Well I did it. I don't think it much looks like me but then again my New Year resolution is to lose some weight. I liked seeing myself outside a library as my first library job was when I was in h.s. and worked in the university library where my older sisters had worked and unlike school libraries, it was a separate building. So far I've been having fun playing. My only real frustration is that I get confused on which "thing" I'm on. Maybe when I'm at a computer where I can print I should print out a list of the "things" so I can label them correctly.

Lifelong Learning Habits: The most difficult habit for me is to "create my own learning toolbox." Like most people, I need the technology in my hands or in front of me in order to learn to use it and I tend to procrastinate on purchasing the latest and newest. For example I was one of the last in my circle of friends (personal and professional) to buy a cell phone (it's now the first day of 2010 and I've only been a cell phone user and owner for just over two years). I tend to think of some of these new "tools" as eating away at my time and I really want to use most of my "spare" time with family, friends, or reading! The easiest habit is the last one (7 1/2) "play!" Once I've learned something new, I really enjoy playing, creating, showing it off, teaching others etc. etc. I want to always stay in touch with my inner child and one of my favorite quotes from Marie Montessori is, "Play is the work of childhood."
